Considered one of the biggest and most legendary names in world rock, Bon Jovi has just released the single “Unbroken” with a powerful message. Written by Jon Bon Jovi and produced by John Shanks, the song is a tribute to the thousands of American veterans who live with post-traumatic stress disorder.
“This song is to honor American veterans and their services, but I also wanted to show the reality of their lives and their daily battles,” said Jon Bon Jovi. The lyrics are profound and relate a soldier’s point of view as they show their continuing challenges, even as they return home. For the next 12 months, the band will donate 100% of the net revenue from downloading “Unbroken” to the Patriotic Service Dog Foundation.
The single will be on the soundtrack of the Netflix documentary titled “To Be Of Service”. Produced and directed by Josh Aronson, Julie Sayres, Carolyn Clark Powers, and Chuck Ortner, the film explores the remarkable changes that trained service dogs bring in the lives of veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress. The record will be released on Netflix on Nov. 10, the date Veterans Day celebrates in the United States, a major holiday in the country. At the end of September, Bon Jovi participated, for the fifth time, in the Brazilian edition of Rock in Rio, performing at Palco Mundo, a show that delighted the crowd with its many successes. In addition to this show, the band also performed outside the festival in cities such as Recife, Sao Paulo and Curitiba. The band’s last studio album, “This House Is Not For Sale” (2016), debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and was part of the repertoire of shows in these cities. Over the course of its 30-year career, the group has recorded 19 albums and won numerous awards, including 2010’s “Global Icon” at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
